FAQ:
1) What is the difference between theft and burglary and robbery?
Burglary is nonviolent stealing from your home. Theft is nonviolent stealing of your property outside your home. Robbery is the violent stealing of your property, usually
outside your home.
2) Why is burglary much more likely than the other crimes?
Because it is based on number of households, not population.
3) Why is it that the probability of crime doesn't exactly double from 5 to 10 to 20 years?
That's not how probability works. If you have a 50% chance of getting a head when you flip a coin, if you flip it twice your chances of getting a head once are not
100% (50% + 50%).
